Kodokan Kendo Club is located in Rickmansworth Herts. and was founded in 1980 by sensei Paul Budden 7th Dan Renshi, a BKA National Coach and most recently the kendo coach to the celebrities on Channel 4's 'the Games'. He leads the club with the assistance of sensei Kazuyo Matsuda, 5th Dan and BKA National Ladies Coach.

The dojo, situated at the Royal Masonic Girls School, is the home of the Kodokan International Kendo Seminar led annually by sensei Masatake Sumi 8th Dan Hanshi, one of the most widely respected teachers in the Kendo world today.

It is also the home of the Great Britain Kendo Team's training which takes place here under the direction of the BKA Chief National Coach Matsumoto sensei 7th Dan Kyoshi.

Kendo can be practiced safely by all and provides many benefits for those who practice it. Kodokan accepts junior members from the age of 15 years and adults of any age. Please contact us for more information or come along to the club to watch and talk with us. We try our best to make visitors feel welcome and answer any questions you may have.

It`s never too late to begin Kendo.
